Toilet Ek Prem Katha’s story is directly related to us: Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar are all set for the release of their upcoming movie ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, they are leaving no stone unturned to make their film a success. Recently, Akshay and Bhumi promoted their upcoming flick out in Delhi. Along with them, Anupam Kher was also present at the press conference.

On being asked about what made him choose this film, Akshay said, “I didn’t research about it and nobody asked me to do it but the script was extremely different which was one of the reasons to choose this film because we have never seen a film being made at toilet and that too a love story and moreover, it’s a real life story. And this topic is directly related to us and our health and not only in villages, but cities too face such problems. Also, it’s our duty to keep the city clean.

Bhumi said that she is happy to get films that are high on content.” On her experience being the part of this film, she said, “This has been one of the best experiences of my life and they have put such a brilliant example for a new comer like me. It’s only my second but it was a great privilege to work with them. And it’s been a delight because they are extremely professional and hard working.”

Anupam Kher on being asked about the acceptance of such films said, “I personally feel it’s the golden period of cinema because the audience is accepting such films and it’s a tribute to the audience. But scripts were brilliant at all times undoubtedly.” On his take on the movie, he said, “This is a film on a subject that deals not only with sanitation issues but also women all over the world and Bhumi has been very courageous to work in it.”

He then added, “This is a movement that should have been started earlier but now when we finally are dealing with such issues, I am happy and have great faith in youth that they’ll be the change.”

Well, ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles, with Anupam Kher and Sana Khan in supporting roles. It is a satirical comedy film which revolves around the storyline of a woman, who leaves her husband on the first day of their marriage after discovering that he doesn’t have a toilet. He desperately sets out on a mission to win back his love by standing up to the age-old traditions and values of India.
